Welcome to the Tsakonian Digital Vault, a comprehensive digital repository dedicated to the preservation, study, and promotion of the Tsakonian language (Tσακώνικα).
What is the Tsakonian Digital Vault?
The Tsakonian Digital Vault is an open-access platform designed to bring together linguistic data, cultural resources, and educational materials regarding one of the most unique and endangered languages of the Hellenic world.
Tsakonian is the only living descendant of the ancient Doric dialect, specifically the Laconian variety spoken in ancient Sparta. Isolated for centuries in the Parnon mountains of the Peloponnese, it has preserved features that have disappeared from all other forms of Modern Greek.
